Significant Initiatives Launched in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: On Monday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 13 developmental projects valued at approximately Rs 275 crore in Balia Pada, located in Bhadrak district.

Of the 13 projects, nine were officially inaugurated, while the foundation stones for four new initiatives were also established.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister made significant announcements for Bhadrak, including plans for a new government university and a long-awaited medical college, with the foundation stone to be laid shortly.

Majhi emphasized the district's industrial growth, revealing that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) will invest Rs 4,377 crore to create a Technical Textile Complex in Bhadrak.

Furthermore, MCPI Private Limited is set to establish an HMLS polyester manufacturing facility with an investment of around Rs 2,224 crore.

He also announced plans to enhance the aesthetic appeal of all martyr memorial sites in Bhadrak, adding cultural and historical value to the area.

Majhi stated, “Since our government took office, we have accelerated the development of Bhadrak, a region known for its revolutionaries. We are dedicated to fulfilling every commitment made to the citizens without delay.”

He highlighted key decisions made by the state government over the past year, including the launch of the Subhadra Yojana, which provides farmers with an additional Rs 800 per quintal of paddy, the opening of all four gates of the Jagannath Temple, and the allocation of a Rs 500 crore fund for rituals and services at the temple.

The Chief Minister announced that a comprehensive report detailing the government's achievements over the past year will be shared with the public on June 12.

Discussing the state's vision for development, Majhi remarked, “Livelihood and employment are crucial for progress. We are consistently working to enhance the financial well-being of our citizens through agriculture, allied sectors, and industrial growth.”

He criticized the previous administration for spending 24 years merely “painting pictures of development” while failing to deliver tangible results in education and healthcare.

“True development has only just begun,” he asserted.

Majhi added, “In the coming years, Odisha’s primary education system will undergo a complete transformation—not through flashy slogans, but through real results,” targeting the previous regime’s 5T (Technology, Teamwork, Transparency, Time, and Transformation) initiative.

Highlighting the government's industrial progress, he stated, “In just 120 days, under the 'Utkarsa Odisha' initiative, projects worth over Rs 80,000 crore have been initiated. On May 22 alone, approvals were granted for 10 projects totaling Rs 1.65 lakh crore. This marks the dawn of an industrial revolution in Odisha, with every district, including Bhadrak, participating in this transformative journey.”
